Phase 1 Desk Top Study & Walkover Survey:

A Phase 1 desk top study will produce a conceptual site model. This will identify the potential contamination sources on the site, therefore the risks which are posed by them. Then solutions are tailored for the proposed end use of the site.

Why use AGS?:

An AGS Ground Solutions Phase 1 ground contamination report is prepared by a qualified, experienced engineer, unlike some computer-generated alternatives – meaning that you benefit from professional opinion rather than a database search!

Our Phase 1 ground contamination reports are suitable for submission to the local authority as part of an ‘Land Stability’ planning condition, and may also be used to obtain a building warrantee, as well as for due diligence purposes, so you can use the same report for two purposes!

An AGS Ground Solutions Phase 1 Ground contamination report will typically be available within 5 – 7 days and because of the way that we work, our rates are competitive across the UK.

Phase 2 Ground Contamination Site Investigation:

Once identified, the risks identified in the conceptual site model should be assessed by way of a quantitative risk assessment.

We have access to specialist lightweight or confined space access equipment. Our drill rigs can be fitted with intrinsically safe fittings. These enable investigation to take place in difficult access or environmentally sensitive sites.

Groundwater Risk Assessments:

Where the environment is at risk, perhaps from a spill or because of a groundwater source protection zone, we can carry out a groundwater risk assessment to quantify the risks that are posed to groundwater and the wider environment, and allow remedial measures to be set up.

Soil Gas Assessments:

If soil gas has been identified as a risk to your development, AGS can carry out a soil gas assessment. Our specialist drillers install gas monitoring wells because our monitoring equipment is capable of sampling a full suite of landfill gases as well as flow rates. We can also carry out monitoring for volatile organic carbon.
